Places to Visit
Places To Visit
The cathedral has a Baroque facade and is imposing. Not many people notice, but one of the two towers is larger, which is creating an asymmetry.
The two bells in the taller tower are said to have been cast with gold and silver mixed into the bronze.
The building material of Havana Cathedral includes coral, which was shaped and carved by slaves. If you take a carefull look, you might see the fossils deep in the stones of the Cathedral.
In addition, there are copies of paintings by Rubens and Murillo on the altars and frescoes by Italian artist Giuseppe Perovanni at the top end of the choir.
Museums
The most famous is El Capitolio where every tourist goes for a visit. Cuban Academy of Science has around 50 museums and these include the Museum of Fine Art, the Revolution Museum, the National Museum of Music, the Museum of Dance and Rum, the Cigar Museum, the Colonial Museum, the Ernest Hemingway Museum. Varadero - Hotel Club Puntarena
Well, let me talk about the hotel I stayed while vacationing in Cuba. The hotel is called Hotel Club Puntarena and is located at the beachfront, some 30 km from the airport. It is a 9 storey building with 255 rooms. It has 5 restaurants, big pool mini-golf court, game room with billiards and table tennis. There is also a place if you are into volleyball and basketball and what was most important for me; children's playground and kids club for children 3-12 years old. This hotel is 4 star hotel and it really is nice. Please, take a look at the image above. For additional images, please click here.

First visit to Cuba
Cuba is fantastic and beautiful country and an island. I happen to see many of its beauties and will try to describe and bring that closer to you. Cuba is a country located in the Caribbean sea. Its population is 11 million people. It is a big island with many smaller islands. Cuba is very close to United States and Mexico to the North. The official language is Spanish. The capital city of Cuba is Havana (La Habana) with a population of 2.2 million people. Cuba has area of 110,860 sq km or 42,803 sq miles.
I will come again... it is my time to relax now and search for my next destination. However, I will be back to write about Cuba and will publish at least one article every day. In the meantime, please take a look at one of the images of Cuba I took while I was there. It shows Plaza de la Catedral (Cathedral Square), very famous and old building in Havana. Stay tuned for more ...
